Barrie Goldsmith was admitted as a solicitor in England in 1975, where he was a partner in a very successful law firm. He migrated to Australian in 1982.
Having migrated to Australia, he worked for 2 years for Blake Dawson Waldron, one of Australia's largest law firms.
In 1984 Barrie established his own law firm, Goldsmiths Lawyers. Since that time, Barrie has acted for a diverse range if clients primarily in commercial, corporate and property matters, intellectual property, all types of commercial litigation and in international law.
He has, virtually from the outset, acted for clients in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries and continues to be heavily involved in those industries.
Barrie is a Past President of the Australia-Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a Past Vice-President of the Australia-Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been actively involved in the Australia-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Australia-British Chamber of Commerce and Industry and has been involved in a number of other activities of a bilateral nature.
He is the author of a regular legal column in the TravelTrade magazine and regularly speaks at international conferences on Australian travel, tourism and hospitality law.
